What ever involves being all day in the sun. The main target is fishing, sports and outdoor life. The Coolmax® Extreme rating makes it also work in fitness and dance studios.

The Coolmax® Extreme Rating

Double the wicking and evaporating action than "standard" Coolmax® means  half the amount of moisture left to run down your face. It also means keeping the temperatures at bay where other fabrics just heat you up.

It is the highest possible cooling rating a fabric can achieve and not even a handful of textile manufacturers in the world manage to achieve this.

The picture to the left explains how it works:

A special four-channel fibre forms a transport system that pulls moisture away from the skin to the outer layer of the fabric. It distributes the moisture so fine that it easily evaporates. This effect then thermoregulates the body. 

UV Protection

UVA and UVB protection is necessary to prevent skin cancer. Normal fabrics like T-shirts don't protect from both. That's why you can avoid sunburns with them but still get skin cancer. 

Our Australian agency ARPANSA discovered this years ago and introduced the UPF rating that we all know. According to this rating the High-UV Buff® rates UPF 20 (good) and is the only tube that has a UPF rating.

Samples of fabrics are tested for UV protection by AITEX - Textile Technological Institute (Test report nº 2005AN5904) in accordance with the standard AS/NZS4399:1996 "Sun protective clothing - Evaluation and Classification".

As far as we know no other headwear is available that comes with Coolmax® Extreme rating AND UV protection.

Sorry to say it that harsch but if your tube isn't a High-UV Buff® it's not going to protect you against skin cancer.
